With upwards of 50,000 runners, and over two million spectators lining the 26.2 mile course, the New York marathon has become the largest in the world.
First held in 1970, the route now visits all five New York Five Boroughs. Starting on Staten Island, the course winds northwards through Brooklyns, Queens and Manhattan before briefly entering the Bronx. This marks the upper limit of the route which returns to Manhattan and the finish line in Central Park
**Please note that this is an Archive design from an older running of the event. It may not reflect the most recent course.**
