UTMB Mont Blanc

Styled as "the most mythical and prestigious trail running race in the world", the original UTMB is perhaps the pinnacle of the ultra-marathon world. Centred on the Alpine resort of Chamonix, the 171km route is relentless in its near constant altitude gain and loss, resulting in almost 10,000 metres of vertical climb.

Always oversubscribed, athletes must gain entry via a number of qualification pre-requisites and then take their chances in the lottery. For those who make it to the start line, it will be an experience they never forget.
